Come and experience three days of classes and workshops, taught by 8&1 Company members and friends. Join some of DFW's most innovative teachers for a weekend filled with inspired choreography, disciplined technique, and a progressive curriculum.

Classes: Each class is designed to celebrate the freedom of movement, the expression of emotion, and the discipline that comes with training and a strong work ethic. This is a JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE! Try something new, make mistakes, learn new techniques, and GROW as a dancer.
What to Bring: This will be a challenging weekend, so taking care of our bodies is a must. Bring plenty of water and healthy snacks. For yoga, please bring a yoga mat or towel.
Dress Code: We recommend dancers dress in form fitting attire for technique classes as it allows instructors to quickly see and correct students’ alignment and positioning. During warm ups, baggy clothing and excessive jewelry must be removed. For Hip Hop classes, baggy clothing and street shoes are acceptable. Dancers are encouraged to bring appropriate shoes for each genre of dance.
Dress code is not required to participate, however we strongly encourage students wear PROPER attire to ensure a successful experience.
Requirements: Student safety is very important to us! If a student under the age of 18 must miss a class or leave the premises during the blocked out intensive hours, we require advanced written notice from a parent or guardian.
We will have 8&1's professional photographer, Sarah Beal, onsite throughout the weekend. All photos can be viewed at her website SarahBealPhotos.com. NO PERSONAL CAMERAS OR VIDEO RECORDERS WILL BE ALLOWED.
After securing attendance for Intensive, please look for two important documents via email, our Photography Release and Release of Liability and Ownership to 8&1 Dance Company. Forms will be sent the week of the Intensive. Both release forms must be signed and returned in order to participate in classes. Documents can be scanned and emailed back, or printed and brought to the first day on Friday, Aug. 4.
Open Audition: An (optional) open audition will be held During the intensive technique class to be announced shortly. Audition is open to professionals ages 17+ for our Professional Company and students ages 12+ for our Apprentice Program. Auditioningh is not required for Intensive participants, but open to all. ( all are encouraged to take the technique class as its part of the students schedule. )
More information on the 8&1 Apprentice Program and 8&1 Dance Company positions will be provided upon casting.
